NYCT, MaBSTOA and MTA Bus employees represented by TWU Local 100 who are parents of a newborn child can apply for a stipend of $300.00 per week - up to four (4) weeks.

    To be Eligible, the member must:
  • be an active NYCT, MaBSTOA or MTA Bus employee at the time their child was born.
  • be out of work unpaid to care for their new born child, have exhausted all leave balances and continue on consecutive unpaid leave immediately thereafter during the requested stipend period dates.
  • member can apply for stipend up until the child turns one years old.
  • Required Documents:
  • A completed application.
  • Child's original birth certificate and additional documentation as requested.
  • How to Apply:
  • Obtain a Newborn Stipend Application from TWU Local 100-NYCTA Childcare Fund.
  • Fill out the application - Section I (A, B and C), have a supervisor fill out and sign Section II.
  • Submit completed application and child's original birth certificate to the TWU Local 100-NYCTA Childcare Fund office in person.
  • Taxation of the Child Care Benefit:
  • The Newborn Stipend is taxable, therefore, the Childcare Fund will withhold statutory taxes from the stipend paid to you.

*All applications are subject to review and approval by TWU Local 100-NYCTA Childcare Fund. Applying does not guarantee payment of the stipend. You may be asked to submit additional documentation.
